Tropical Storm Ida

A day off from school, no need to water the garden, cool breezes ( aka gusts), time to catch up on blog, and maybe a little shopping and lady lunch! = Benefits of IDA.

John Conal hard at work on a project for my class!!!! Are those eyes closed? Is that enthusiasm I see??? Saturday afternoon at DI with my grandson, watching football, doing school work, and reading. How blessed am I? He may have done a little more fishing than studying, but who is counting???? Not me, I just love it that he wanted to be down there with his Nana.

Goat trees of DI were quite a shock to me when I heard the real story.l I had just assumed they were just old dead trees, but noooooooooooo, they are "protected" by the law. As the story goes, goats would try to escape the jaws of hungry alligators by climbing up into these trees, leaving the gators snapping at them from below.
There are no longer goats on the island, BUT there is a movement to restock the goats as an attraction for the vacationers. Might be the "political action" group just for me!

Nothing like sitting in the stands during a 7th grade football game in the pouring rain and wind.
What we all do for our grandchildren! Cecilia and Matthew thought it was a grand way to spend the afternoon; so many puddles, so little time.
JC played quite a bit, but last year's broken ankle is still bothering him with swelling and pain, so there are no more sports for him this year. He made the basketball team, but the ortho said it was a bad idea. Rehab will take the place of BB for a while. Does not make for a happy 13 year old.
